Rachel A. Longer, LCSW, CET II, Certified IFS Therapist
Founder & Director of Acorn Psychotherapy
Hi! I’m Rachel (she/her/hers).
I created Acorn Psychotherapy because I wanted to cultivate an empowering healing environment without a pathologizing lens.
I’m here to help you get in touch with your thoughts & emotions in a non-pathologizing way. I’m passionate about creating a safe environment where you can explore your experiences and the impacts these experiences have had on you. I’m on a mission to help folks heal from trauma and cultivate caring relationships within themselves.
Here are a few fun facts about me:
I’m an avid fiction & fantasy reader
I love jigsaw puzzles
I have two cats and a dog
I’m a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)
I absolutely love being a therapist
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist, EMDR trained, & Certified Experiential Therapist (Level II). I graduated with my Master’s Degree from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.
I have written about IFS therapy and have led personal growth & professional growth focused workshops on the topic. It is one of my favorite things to talk about!
I specialize in working with survivors of trauma, women’s and LGBTQIA+ health, new moms, difficulties in relationships, anxiety, & depression.
